FYI.

Power Upgrade Notification

Hello Peter,

On Saturday, February 3, 2007 beginning at 11:30 PM Central Standard Time we will begin a full system shutdown of our entire network. During this scheduled downtime we will be upgrading our entire data center's power grid and UPS backup systems. The expected downtime will last approximately one hour. During this downtime you will be unable to access any part of your services, including phone and live chat support. After the power and UPS systems have been upgraded, we will begin bringing all services back online. Due to the nature of nameserver resolution after a complete reboot it may take one to three hours for all domains to begin functioning properly. Therefore we are expecting the full restore to be completed by 4 AM Central Standard Time.

We thank you for your patience and understanding for this necessary maintenance and look forward to being able to provide you with an increased quality of service once this process has been completed.

Respectfully,

Fatima Said

well whatever they did, it sucks my ass.  I thought it was bad before, but yesterday it was terribly slow, and today the damn site is bouncing up and down more than a pair of jigglys at a strip club.

my ticket from yesterday.

yet again my database response is very sluggish or non responsive. The only problem I ever have with my hosting service are these database servers not working correctly.

If this continues it will probably lead to my early termination of my service with IX and I will have to move on. I've never made a ticket for anything but database response problems, what is the continuing problem with these servers being non responsive or slow? It is getting ridiculous that many times a week during the middle of the day these servers are down, non responsive, or sluggish!

the problem has been occurring all day, especially at the time I created the ticket. Being the ticket was responded to almost 10 hours after I created it, the problem cleared up.

Someone really needs to look at the performance of the MYSQL servers during the day time because quite frankly, its been terrible for quite awhile now. The rest of my website loads fine, but response times to the MYSQL database servers can take up to 30-45 seconds!

The last time I complained about this, I was moved to a new MYSQL server, which cleared up the problem for a few months until more and more users were stuck on it as well, and now the problem is occurring again. It really seems these servers are being overloaded with users and the performance and response of them is severely affected.

what we have now is overkill, but its the lowest plan they have that offers mysql databases (needed for the forum and photo album)

As it sits right now, we're using up almost 3GB of space, and the most intensive traffic month has been about 2571200 KBytes for SYRacingInc.com (probably due to the pics section being there), and SilverLakeSandDuners did 9561696 KBytes last July after the trip, but the next highest besides that has been 5186523 KBytes (this month, still counting)
