Well, after having it a week it's probably going back.  I'm going to play around a little bit more, but this game offers ZERO challenge.  Running is pathetically easy and passing even easier.

Sliders don't help.  If you're a vet and have been playing this game for years, it will be no challenge.  The real shame is passing.  The deep ball is a money ball as usual, but it's worse than normal.  Beyond that, 15-20 yard routes are incredibly easy to complete.  The hardest passes are those that shoud be easy.  There's absolutely to even attempt a 2-10 yard pass in this game when anything higher is automatic.  They've tried to make "breakaway speed" but it just allow WRs to kill the HORRIBLE defensive AI.

Anyway, if you've been playing this game for years, it will offer little challenge even at the highest level.  If you've never been very good at these games and don't play at the highest level, you could still have some fun with it.

No actually, I think the graphics are definately improved.  I noticed the player models are much better this year.

They still aren't even CLOSE to ESPN quality, but I think they're better overall.  Still, I don't notice that much when I'm smaching my opponent.  I just turned it off and was beating Illinios 76-3 at the end of the 3rd with Mississippi State on Heisman level.  My QB was 32-36 with something like 400+ yards...

The AI is absolutely atrocious.  The CPU DB AI is laughable.

I guess shitty graphics are what we have to look forward to this year with the ONLY NFL game available, with gay ass Madden's commentary.

Hopetully there will be 2005 rosters available for ESPN 2k4, I'm sure a homeboy would hook me up with them if they exist.

Glad we could convert you!  The ESPN is SO FAR ahead of the Madden series... for those that haven't play it, pickup a copy of last year's game and GIVE IT A CHANCE.

I can openly admit I once thought the exact same thing Pete.  Don't know how or why Madden grew on me.  Maybe now I see him as a good, down to earth analyst.  To each his own.  I also truly respect his knowledge of the game and at least his knows the players' names.  Fuggin Jon Miller.  And then there's Joe Morgan.  He's the master of the obvious... "that's the perfect time for the steal, you know, when the catcher falls down and breaks his leg.  Never a better time to get a good jump.  That's just good baseball knowledge."  WTF?

Jon Miller and Joe Morgan suck.  Put Madden on those broadcasts and you'd truely have 3 total idiots.

LOL... actually it's not Heather, but thanks!  I was alluding to the Twins announcer who annoyingly states that early in the season... quite often!

Bah, my birthday... I'll be 28... that's 2 years from 30... that's... sigh...near death.
