I cannot believe that none of you believe in INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.  An indictment doesnt mean hes guilty.  If anyone of us was being indicted would you want everyone automatically assuming guilt?

Do i think he is, probably, but lets not pass total judgement and hatred just yet.

Apparently federally indicted cases have a 90% conviction rate... so yeah... IF....

I think they got him though... and with everything they have he's either guilty or has multiple personalities... with one of them being stupid.

Everyone thought the duke lacrosse players were guilty too.

Good point.  That was quite a bit of speculation... with a lot of he said/she said.  Against Vick it looks pretty substantial.  Still... you never know!!!!!!!!!!!

And come on I am sorry but yes I think that he is guilty.  Okay he is an athlete and he is not at his properties all the time but come on!!!!! You are telling me that if there were dog fights going on your property you would not know about it. Please that is the biggest bunch of BS that I have ever heard.  Really sure that he would have "accidently" ran into a dog fight on his property at one point in time, but maybe I am wrong.

I do believe it is possible.  Do you think every person who owns houses and rents them knows whats going on at those houses?  Its actually against the rental agreement for the owner to come to the house in most cases.  People like Vick, who are worth hundreds of millions of dollars have multiple houses....hell, people like him let other people raise their kids.  So yes, i believe its possible he MIGHT not have known what was going on.

Whoever is responsible can go to hell. I'm so tired of this shit, not just because of the cruelty involved, but because of what it does to the breed. I'm sick of hearing about breed bans on pitbulls because assholes like this breed them to fight. I have worked in the animal field since i was 16, and have never once met a pitbull I didn't like. My aunt used to live in cleveland and had two rescued pits and they were the sweetest dogs ever. I want one, and because of the stigma attached because of dickweeds who fight them, I have to have a 6 foot fence and a muzzle on it whenever I walk it if I choose to stay in Brook Park. I'm so tired of this. I cannot even fully elaborate my feelings on this subject.

I guess I shouldn't really be surprised considering the source

Quote
NEW YORK - Knicks guard Stephon Marbury defended Michael Vick, calling dogfighting a sport and comparing it to hunting.

Marbury spoke Monday about the federal dogfighting conspiracy charges against Vick while promoting his basketball shoe in Albany, N.Y.

"I think it's tough," Marbury said, according to an Albany TV station report. "I think, you know, we don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals. You know, from what I hear, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors."

On Monday, Vick said through a lawyer that he will plead guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities and conspiracy to sponsor a dog in an animal fighting venture. He also faces possible prosecution in Virginia.

"I think it's tough that we build Michael Vick up and then we break him down," Marbury said. "I think he's one of the superb athletes, and he's a good human being. I just think that he fell into a bad situation."

Sigh... you're looking at a guy who lived in the big city and probably never had a pet, ever.  It's craziness to some of us, but we as a population do some shitty things.  Not trying to really defend Marbury but it's crazy to see how different people think.   I'd be willing to bet he never had any pets or got close to an animal.  You guys remember Clinton Portis' comments?  Later on he said he never had pets and didn't realize how much you could feel for an animal and apologized.  Just craziness though.... people are equal to dogs, cats, etc, in my book.

I believe it, I see it everyday with people who HAVE pets... so many just let them suffer and die because to them it's "just an animal" or they "just got it because the kids wanted it" It's the hardest part about what I do, trying so hard to promote animal welfare and good healthcare for them, and seeing people like this. dogfighting was a sport a hundred years ago, albeit a despicable one, but now its just another way for people to make a quick buck. It can't be compared to hunting. Most hunters eat what they shoot, and if they're any good at hunting, its a quick death. With this, the dog just suffers until it can no longer hold on to life. Its abominable.

plus you hunt wild animals that live on their own in the wild, not domesticated dogs.

but.....if you have been breeding dogs for years strictly for fighting are they domesticated?  Its not like these dogs are taken from owners who love them like a family member.

Another note, comparing it to hunting is just moronic.  Not only are you out there chasing the animal in its environment, you are doing everything possible to make it humane as possible.

training a dog to fight does not make it a wild, feral animal.
