I need to find a durable semi affordable GPS unit that I cn mount an my handle bars or that will fit in my pocket.  Also it needs to be easy to use.  I have no idea where to evan start looking or what I am looking for.

etrex legend, I see them all the time for less than 100 bux.  They are pretty small, and will mount on bars or go in a pocket easily.

most likely, you can get them just about anywhere, Cabelas, Target, Walmart, Gander Mountain, or any camping store.  I think I even saw them at Best Buy but I don't recall for sure.  Saw an open box one for $79

The target by me has a bunch of camping and outdoor stuff on clearance.  Maybe I will get lucky and it will be on clearance, yeah right.

put a bid in on a etrex on ebay it ends tomorrow so if I will I could get it for 55 shipped.  I wont pay more than that for a used one.

I have the magellan roadmate 2000, its good for about 3 hrs on the charge.  perfect size for riding too.  I'm sure you'll enjoy yours.

this on is good for 22hours on 2 AA batteries.  i can use it for a speedo on the bike too.

ya, the 3 hours is horrid.  I mainly keep it in the vehicle though.  For hillshooting and drags 3 hours is good enough.  You just have to remember to turn it off when not hillshooting.

Got my GPS today.  there are no instruction with it so i down loaded them.  It is easy to use even witout thedm.  I am at 1056ft elevation in my drivewat.  I ordered a bike mount and a PC interface cable today so i will be ret to go.
