ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Joe Torre was MAYBE an average manager AT BEST before the Yankees.  He didn't do squat and sat there and picked his nose and made money.  He was a bum before the Yankees and he'll be a worthless bum afterwards.

How many times did Joe Torre get ANY of his ballclubs to the postseason before the yankees?  How many times?  Hint.... me managed something like 15 years before the Yankees..........

Please... we both know it's called having a far FAR superior team.  The years the Yankees won with Torre they were an All-Star team that had tremendous talent... even some young talent too!  It had nothing to do with The Nose or anything he did.  Or maybe doing nothing was exactly what they needed.

I gotta agree with Vin, i'm not all sure what Torre did, but they won because they had good players and all stars. Dodgers were doing good this year, so it may be hard to tell if he will improve them.
On another note, it seems like this year the Yanks are crumbling apart. A-rod leaving, Torre gone. Whose next? The cycle will turn over and sooner or later they will be down again, and in another few years theyll be up again. Look at the tigers. They were hot in the early/mid eithies, late eighties/early ninietues they couldnt win a game if the other team forfeited, and now theyre back up there.

Dontrelle Willis is going to start the season as the 5th starter.  Either leyland thinks the rest of the starters are on their game or dontrelle isnt ready yet.
