i saw this on the Military channel yesterday, holy crap. It was on WWII and the attacks on the america. I had no idea about any of these. During the majority of the war there were Japanese subs all along the pacific coast and german u-boats all along the atlantic coast.

on the pacific side they shelled an oil refinery in CA and a military base in OR. showed footage of civilians being trained to use rifles and automatic weapons in case of an invasion. A bomber also was able to make it over to the US and bomb a forest in OR to try and set a forest fire, it didnt work. After that the Japanese set off these fancy weather ballons that rode the jetstream over to the US and dropped bombs. Our government kept it absolute secret so that the Japanese wouldnt be able to tell if they were working or not. Most of them fell in unpopulated areas but 6 people died when one went off

On the atlantic side they constantly sank our ships and they said along the beaches you would see oil and rubble from the wreckages wash up along with bodies. They also had secret agents come ashore on inflatable rafts that were supposed to sabotage our factories but luckily one turned himself in and ratted all the other ones out

Also in alaska, dutch harbor where deadliest catch is filmed, had the shit bombed out of it and the japanese occupied islands there for a long time

this show was basically made to show the fact that we arent as guarded as we think. very eye opening. They said that germany and japan both had full invasion plans for the US. scary stuff

Yeah that kind of stuff really puts it in perspective...I kept thinking about that when I was 200 miles off the coast, nothing around me...I know they would target our oil rich gulf and we would have a serious environmental issue, with millions of barrels spewing into the ocean it would grind our economy to a halt

I love the military channel

they actually showed the tower at Cape May and talked about that area. Was cool knowing exactly where they were and recognizing the tower. I always thought the tower was more of a precaution, not being as important as it really was

im sure it would be on at some point, i caught it the other morning at 6 am. i always turn on the military channel before i leave for work and 90% of the time whatever is on is interesting enough that i set the DVR to record the rest of it to watch when i get home. The WWII stuff is by far the best, its better then any movie script that has ever been written

Glad you see the reason I enjoy watching it so much... The stuff about WW2 is factual, and its pretty mind blowing that it was only 60 or so years ago when it all went down..
There was even talk that Hitler came into possession of the spear of destiny
