So we're buying our mom and step dad a HD-DVD player for xmas. They just ordered a 50" DLP so I figured this would be a nice accessory for it. I was shopping around and saw that buy.com has the hd-a2 for $205. I was about to buy from them, when I though, c'mon, how could amazon not have a better deal. Good thing I checked... They have the newer model, the HD-A3, for $225, and you get The Bourne Identity and 300 (both in hd-dvd of course) bundled in for free. You also get to free another 3 free movies right then and there. Its a nice list too. I picked Casino, Blood Diamond, and Bourne Supremacy (how perfect, they haven't seen any of them). Bourne Supremacy comes out next Tuesday so I'll probably buy that for them too. And then there is still the five free HD-DVD mail in offer as well. Selection isn't as good, but hey, they're free! So all in all, a HD-DVD player and 5 free movies right away for only $225. That right there is between $100 and $150 in movies. Then you also get the 5 free mail-in movies (I'll let them pick those...and who knows if they'll ever show up). there weren't a lot of choices. I figured Heather's best friend Jessica Simpson would look nice in HD, same reason I got Tomb Raider.
