so, I made the plunge today.  I was going to buy one of the MS XBox 360 wireless adapters for my 360 until I saw they wanted 100 dollars for their cheap, stupid ass USB wireless adapter.  I can get a similar one for $20 for my computer.  First off, fuck you Microsoft.

So I went to Best Buy and picked up a $49.99 Linksys WRT54G router/wireless access point.

I flashed it to the DD-WRT micro firmware (which is GREAT by the way) and configured it as a wireless bridge to my main access point.

I then plugged the 360 into the switch on the new wireless bridge, and blamo, wireless access for half the price.  Fuck you Microsoft.

Its still wired though!  You could have saved yourself the 50 and just made your cable to length...but, running cable sucks.

its not wired, only to the router.  I was tired of having a cable running down my steps.  My living room is over the garage and it is finished so there is no way to get a cable up there.  This works great.

Get out the 1/2" drill bit!  I should have done this with my old linksys, but i just spent 40 for a wireless pci card for this PC and i have my modem and router next to my 360.

Back from the dead.

Last night, while bored out of my mind at 2 am...i resurrected my old linksys.  I flashed it to DD WRT, and set it up as a bridge.  Makes a great wireless card. :)  Im using it for a customer's PC that im working on it.
