got the bottom end back in the chassis today and filled with oil. Got it all ready to install the topend and go. I put the new Jet Trim seat cover on but I noticed I need to pull some of the staples out and re do it a little, it's not quite centered. It looks very, very nice though.
WTF, where are the pics!? The seat does look really nice. I saw it in person over the weekend.

They screwed up Ben's seat the first time. Actually...I think his was missing an entire section and wouldn't even fit the seat. He had to get another...and one of the colors might have been off. I'm guessing you don't have enough time for a return.

I'm not entirely sure it's their fault. One thing I think they need to do is show an example of the seat, and write '1, 2, 3,' etc on the various parts of the seat so you can just say 'I want part 1 blue, part 2 black, part 3 yellow' etc.
It still looks really nice, but there is a part where black is right next to black. Not ideal, but I'm fine with it.

got the call last night that the cylinders were done and I could pick them up today. $50 a hole plus tax, not bad. I'm going to bail out after lunch and get to work.

well everything went together well. Ring end gap checked out, piston to cyl wall clearance was good as well, and the base gaskets I got measured at .035" (Wiseco kit)
The only difference I see is it kicked out at 190 PSI with the new pistons. Not sure if that's due to a little more piston area in the same dome or what, but it should work. Put 155 mains in it (had 150s) to richen it up a bit and am going to take it up to my mom and dads tomorrow to break it in a little and ride it around. I might put up some pics later so Jer doesn't get a hernia.

Yes a jump in bore size to 66mm will increase the compression ratio. Jumping from 64mm to 66mm and no change to the head geometry gives around a .8 increase in UCCR.

or in my case, 64.75mm to 66mm. I will have to look back in this thread a ways to see what it kicked out at before, I am thinking 160 or 165psi (same gauge)
*edit, looks like I was at 170

does anyone have any of the bumpers for the front of the seat? I just noticed mine are gone and probably don't have enough time to order some for the trip.

if you can check I'd appreciate it...otherwise I might have to rig up something to keep the seat from digging into the frame the whole trip.
