HOLY. SHIT. Hayley told me on Sunday that the Brute Force rolled down a hill, but I had NO idea that it was anything like this. Thank God you're OK Jason, and that it didn't land on anyone! Absolutely a hilarious story though, sorry to admit it. I would've done the same thing with my helmet too, though! I still haven't been out to HM, but I know what trail I'm going to avoid when I do go!

We went to Buffalo Mountain and Rockhouse for Labor day weekend, was a good time. Perfect weather. Buffalo Mountain is by far my favorite now, almost no gas well roads at all, is almost all true double track quad paths. Some great scenery too. Forgot my camera in the KQ's box so no pics yet. Rockhouse was DUSTY. all the corners on the greens had dust inches thick. I went out on the KQ at the end of the day since my YFZ was acting up, revisited the trail 32 that killed the Brute Force, i was on my way back so i went down it, they regraded it and the rocks and ruts are gone, 100% better, wouldnt think twice of climbing it. Good to see they did do something about it, although at the bottom there was another big hunk of fender, it claimed at least one more bike

I read they are opening a 7th system this fall, and are currently working on at least one or two others. Read an article about how ever since its started, HM has every year grew in number of people that go, said 35000 passes this year, and is an unbelievable success, way beyond their expectations. It currently has 500 miles of trails, they want 1,000 and also in the long term want to put in a 4x4 park too. Said the only problem is its growing so fast that they need lodging for all the people, and are encouraging all the people in the little cities to keep opening places to meet demand. Also said they have had representatives from four other states come and see the operation and see if they could do the same, and their business model they originally copied from Utah and Colorado

I love the pic of Jason holding the little plastic tool box.  He looks to be whispering to it"It's OK I can fix you, Its not your fault"

Glad you're OK for sure.  I need to get a bike and find some folks that will ride with me down there.

I love Hatfield, that place is the best, even if Rockhouse kinda stunk this trip.  Buffalo Mountain is probably my #1 trail as well, followed by bear wallow, rockhouse (since it's beat up and dusty) and then little coal.  I am looking forward to a fall trip where we try out little coal again and pinnacle creek or indian ridge.

there is some new plastic on 12 looks like Polaris stuff  and some other guy all so wrecked but did not get all the way down

there was also a near fatality on a different trail ,#16 if i remember right , he fell all most straight down to 40' and i do mean straight down . he and 3 other rider were going to fast ,one of them said near 40 mph ,the last rider was in dust he came around a sharp turn and lost it.

when i got there they were just about to hook to the quad to hall it up, they got it up using 4 quads wenches  and they were tied to 2 others.
it must of been 3 hours before they got the rider up and in to an amblence.........and i for got to take the pic taker
