Yeah, this is definitely old.  I haven't heard anything about their new name, but the city played host to New Orleans for a while after Katrina and they were such a nice host, they were able to convince the Sonics to move out of Seattle.

I don't see them being a flourishing franchise in Oklahoma City, either.

Good riddance!

Pretty much all of our pro sports teams suck- but the Sonics have perennially lead them all as the Supersuck.  I dont like basketball much as it is, its made worse as the NBA absolutely stinks with a group of thugs and dirty ref's...Key Arena where they played isnt so bad- it just didnt have the super duper luxury boxes to make them a bizzillion dollars a year...

Bub-bye!  Have fun in OKC!!!  Now maybe we wont have to listen to that sound so much anymore...you know that sound...that sucking sound!!!!

that pretty much echoes my thoughts on the NBA as well.  A bunch of over paid, prima donna thugs.

They are the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The reason they went to OK is because when the hornets were playing there after katrina the place was packed and the town was nuts about it.

Stern doesnt want a team in Vegas, so OKC it is.

Is the NBA any worse than football for thuggery?  I don't think so, but the NFL gets a free pass.  In fact, dare I say the NFL is worse?????

To me, the NFL is just as boring.  5 seconds play.... 30 seconds of picking your nose..... 5 seconds of play.... 30 seconds of picking your nose, etc, etc ,etc.

Just sayin.

the NFL is equally as bad, especially with the lack of discipline being shown to all these morons getting arrested!

I think goodell is putting and end to the thug image in the nfl.

Pacman was gone.

Chris Henry - gone.

Odell thurman - gone.

All we need is goodell it get rid of the lions.

Jer, they aint a real team.  They're like a practice squad that the rest of the NFL gets to play against.  Kind of an off week for teams, you know.

the way i read/heard it, when the supersonics were bought a few yrs back he planned to move them to okc, but couldnt for a couple reasons, which i have now forgotten.  the supersonics name and colors will stay in seattle though.  fortunately, alaskans seem to be split up between all of the west coast, though mostly kobe [edit carl] and sonics fans.  i cant wait for the day when i can watch a game without kobe[edit carl].  i think we watched  kobe [edit carl] play like 17 games in a row.  lame.  way lame.
