Emmit Smith overrated? Yeah, he had a great offensive line, but you don't score 25 touchdowns in a season without being a stud. Add to that:
NFL Records
Most Rushing Yards (career) -- 17162
Most Rushing Touchdowns (career) -- 153
Most Rushing Attempts (career) -- 4052
Most Rushing Touchdowns (Super Bowl) -- 5
Most Rushing Yards (postseason) -- 1586
Most Rushing Touchdowns (postseason) -- 19
Most Games with 100+ Yards Rushing (postseason) -- 7
Most Consecutive and Total 1000+ Yard Seasons -- 11
He may not be the greatest EVER, but he has to be considered ONE of the best ever. I was never a huge Cowboy fan because I'm a Niner fan, but Emmitt Smith showed up every game, busted his butt, never game up on a run, and got yards. He was surely overshadowed by Barry Sanders, perhaps the greatest RUNNING back of all-time but he surely was great.
BTW -- Favre is a fag... have some dignity and man-up. Don't sit there and teeter for 4 years, retire, then, after the team clearly spent draft picks and time changing their direction, decide to come back, then whine like a little baby.
Those stats make him sound like a stud..I guess I never liked him because he was never as flashy and quick as Barry...But I liked Terrel Davis for some reason |

And yeah, I always thought he was an overrated bum. At the end of his career, last couple years in Dallas, etc, I started to realize he was dang good. Wow... it was SOOOOOO fun watching Barry. You're absolutely right, Emmitt wasn't flashy at all and that's probably it. He never lost yards and he was always moving forward. |

they don't have much of a choice at this time, Brett is kind of forcing their hand.
I think they have the upper hand here. Hes under contract. He can sit at home and be fined or he can go sit on the pine. The fact that that hes made it very apparent he wants to go to MN will keep them from letting him go there. |

I am just glad all of this Brett Favre crap is over. What a friggin douche. I had a lot of respect for the guy until this off-season. I still have respect for how he plays the game, but that was pretty crappy of him to wait this long and then put his former team through what he did. I hope he gets his bell rung a bit because of it, to be honest. The Jets do have some decent players on offense though so it will be interesting to see how that plays out. I wouldn't expect them to make the playoffs or anything, but maybe he could put up OK numbers in a losing cause every week?  |

Oh its far from over Dusty- there will be daily training camp updates then onto game analysis, color commentary on his situation...you name it. Until Game #16 you will be hearing about the Favre situation.
I had alot of respect for the guy. I like the way he played the game and wasnt some primadonna QB who cringed at getting hit or wouldnt block- etc. But this really has left a bad taste in my mouth because its extremely selfish. Its selfish because he's just a very short term answer for any team- he cant or wont probably play but another season or two at most. I guess its like the Devil Rays that bought a Championship- they werent too shy in hiding what they were up to. Maybe the Jets have the same thing in mind. But if a guy says he is retiring, the team then restructures on that- trades, draft picks, coaching staff, offensive scheme- you name it, then he goes well wait maybe uhhh I uhhhh will play more. It really hoses a team.
