Labor Day ANF Ride

Josh - you thinking about coming?

I would assume you guys are going out Friday night and leaving Monday.  I am toying with the idea of waiting for Cathy and coming out later Saturday.  I feel bad she has again missed alot of trips.  That would still give us Saturday night, all day Sunday and Sunday night.

I'm probably going to.  I wish she could make HM rides in the fall, but I hate to wait and see.

What speed do you plan to travel at so we know when to expect you on Saturday evening?

Have you made any progress on fixing the King Quad?  Is a new dobeck on the way?

Are you happy with the Brute Force's performance?  I saw that you didn't get to ride it much this past trip so I expect you'll be on it a lot.  I hope Cathy is okay with that.

This trip will be momentous, the red trailer is coming out of retirement!! im kind of excited about it. I miss that trailer. Be interesting to see how it tows compared to the double axle aluminum. Ole Blue and the red trailer back together in ANF, just like old times

Ol' blue and the red trailer?  WOW.  I'm going to have visions of a fully loaded red trailer with a 400ex, a z400 and a kfx400 all with white brothers pipes on them when I look at it.

I think the best way for blue and that trailer to go is to get stuck in a forest fire at ANF.  Its how they'd want it.

Online wasn't a ton of help.  Its one of the following:

- Sparkplug loose or dirt got in the boot.  I need to check this.  

- A dirty sensor in the airbox.  I need to look int he manula and see where its at.

- A kinked fuel breather hose.  Not likely since it went away.

- A shot Dobeck.  Good probability since leaning it out got rid of it.  Even leaned out its still backfiring at night when its cooler.

People described the same situation.  Its like a big draw of electricity kills the bike (or so it seems).  Some had it happen when going in 4x4 or switching lights on.  There are a few connections I'm going to have to check as well.  

Heather is checking on the Dobeck price.  Sounds like its going to be more expensive than she thought.  Not good.

What about the brick on the accelerator and sending them down the bike trail?  I thought that was how it ws going out.

Yeah but the forest fire is more realistic.

Poor King Quad, I always thought it'd run forever.  I bet this wouldn't have happened if you bought one of the KQ's with the tranny problem!  Those were the best.  They'd wheelie at a quarter-throttle in high gear too!

personally i dont think the Dobeck is bad, i think its a bad connection somewhere that when you draw a lot of amps it starts to fail and you lose power to the ECM. You need to go over all battery and other connections with a fine tooth comb
