So my poor old Inspiron 6000 was on its last legs...Pete deduced I probably had a bad sector in a drive.  My wireless card was very spotty- sometimes hooked to the wireless network, sometimes wouldnt, often dropped of, had a whopping 256mb of RAM...just the old pron workhorse overworked a bit me thinks...So I hit Dell Outlet and watched for awhile and snagged a decent lappy 486 for an alright price.

Its a refurb...

Inspiron 1525 Laptop: Intel Pentium Dual Core T3200 (2.0GHz/667Mhz FSB/1MB cache)
15.4 screen
3 GB DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz (2 DIMMs)Hard Disk Drive
160 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)Video
Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100Modem (high dollah ballah shizzo right there)
Dell 1395 802.11G Wireless Mini Card

It comes with Vista- but I might think about flattening it and loading up Linux instead.  All I do with Lappy 486 is the net, email, and the occasional spreadsheet.  Have been using OpenOffice with decent luck lately- so I can manage without having M$ Office on the HD.

that rig will run linux just fine.  FYI you can run an XP VM in 'Seamless' mode under Virtualbox, and have it appear as below.  It works really slick.  I use my 2nd desktop for this.

I think there is some room to drill some direct passages from the top corners of the intake into the aux. transfer passage...

I'm sending my cyls back for updating.  I want Vista aided design from your new laptop.
