well, it's kind of spur of the moment, but Chris and I are going up to Houghton for the weekend for some snowmobiling. They've gotten 26 inches of snow in the last week alone, so there should be a lot of powder to play in!

350 miles, probably 5.5 or 6 hours, we're staying at the Super 8 on the waterfront in Houghton.

looking to be a good trip! Went home and snowblowed about 10" yesturday, woke up this morning to another good 6" and still snowing. -5 at my house, (South Bend -14) Every school in Berrien County was closed yesturday and it is starting to look that way for today. Went out for a short ride (60 miles) last night and trails were freakin awsome...

took us 6 hours to get here with some less than stellar roads the last 120 miles. Once we hit Ashland, the snow totals easily doubled. Some of the houses in Ironwood were up to the window sills in snow. It snowed about 2 inches last night, calling for 2-3 more today, 1-3 tonight, and another 2-3 tomorrow.

yes. There is actually a ski resort over on those hills. Pretty cool looking at night. Today was a great day of riding. We found some DEEP powder, and both Chris and I got ridiculously stuck within about 10 minutes of each other, and we got it on tape I was standing on the ground, and it was up around my belly button. the 4 inch bar riser is awesome on my sled. Makes it so much easier to ride and I can actually carve in the powder now. A+ mod

Well, its a possibility. I would like to see the UP. I looked it up, its the same amount of time to where you are know as it is to your house for us. Could be a possibilty to take friday off, leave early friday morning and drive up, meet you guys at the hotel or cabin friday evening, go out to eat and hang out, then saturday rent some sleds and ride all day, then go home sunday morning. I guess we need to decide whether to do that or do a MN trip like last year and just hang out

last Heather and I talked, she was talking about showing up in MN Thursday morning, hang out awhile, drive up here in the afternoon, rent sleds, ride Friday until dark, drive home, hang out Saturday, and you guys would head home Sunday.

Nothing else about this trip? Pics of what the area is like?
We got a lot more then we bargained for at ANF, was a lot snow. When we got there, there were snowmobiles everywhere for good reason. Even just in the parking lot there was a foot of snow, and no one had been on the trails to pat the snow down. In the open areas it was 2 feet deep. The King Quad did great, but it was too much for the sport bikes, especially mine. I couldnt get up the smallest incline. I think we rode a couple miles maybe and then turned around. There was no way i could make it back to the parking lot, me and heather took the roads back, was rediculous.
