anyone ever heard of them or listened to them? Out of Japan, stands for super high materials compact disc. Supposed to sound way better then standard CD, and can be played in any regular CD player. Saw it mentioned in a Led Zeppelin review

Seems like some think its a sham, others think its not. There's also SACD, and DVD audio? i guess they were in a format war around 1999 to replace CD's and both just fizzled away? i dont remember ever seeing them anywhere. A lot of sources i read say they are the real thing

Another new technology I don't really see catching on is HD radio..neat concept, but nobody is willing to spend the money and upgrade

They push HD radio so bad on the radio stations we listen to at work, what a complete flop. They say its so great because you get extra channels, but they all still have commercials and the content stinks. For example the classic rock channel i listen to at work, its "HD SUB-STATION" is a hispanic music channel. And there is nothing "HD" about it, its just being broadcast in digital
