Destruction.  Thank goodness too.  Never been a big Penn fan.  Always thought he came a little chubby and overrrated.  Sorry.  Others will definitely call me crazy, I know.  We talked way back about a Faber vs. Penn and everyone laughed but I just don't think it's that far fetched to think this would be a great fight.  Faber is a physical beast, albeit small.  He can do it all as well and is a freak athletically.  Problem is Faber adding weight.  Wow... where's it go?  Maybe it just doesn't work.  Now Penn has a marginal 13-5 record... and I don't buy him as one of the top fighters around.  Jer, feel free to jump in and call me a moron, but I never get that impressed with Penn watching him.  Of course, GSP is a speciman, so it's not shocking that absolutely dominated Penn.  Wow... BJ can take a punch though......... wow.

BJ got his ass beat and kept coming for more, props to him.  I think the Dr. stopped the fight, not that BJ gave up (was hard to hear where we were)

It was either a doctor/ref stoppage or his corner.  That dude wasn't quitting.  Gotta give BJ props for taking the beating that was given to him.  GSP (Frank Dux) is the man.  The other big fight was pretty good too.  That Machida (I think he was the guy) is pretty good too.

BJ's brother called the match.

The problem with BJ is he likes fighting at 170 because he doesnt have to cut weight to fight there.  He thinks its his natural weight. In reality, the best BJ Penn is when hes fighting at 155.

On fight night, GSP is 185.  Penn is still 168. Thats like GSP going against Anderson Silva at 185.  And i dont see GSP asking to do that.

GSP had a great game plan and he worked it to perfection.

Faber wouldnt stand a chance against Penn at 155.

I dont judge fighters by records.  Penn is a bad ass.  How many 155lbs guys would step up and fight GSP?  Penn's losses have come at 170 against the likes of hughes and GSP.  The first loss to GSP was a split decision at that.  BJs poor cardio cost him that fight.   You cant really knock a guy for that.  And the last loss to hughes was due to separating his ribs.  And its the truth, Penn never trained before.

Penn is going to destroy florian at 155.

I like both fighters, i wanted Penn to win so that he could hold both belts.  However, im glad he lost.  If he won, there would have been a major log jam in the two divisions for setting up title fights.

The only thing this fight did was show how big of a gap there is between the best at 155 and the best at 170.  Its the very reason weight classes exist.

GSP verse Alves should be great.
