I sold my 57" Toshiba rear projection to my sister (enjoy!) and picked up a 52" Samsung LN52A750 LCD.  This tv is amazing compared to other LCD's I've watched, it has 120hz so everything is butter smooth and crisp as hell.  It also has a feature that it can play divx, avi, wmv, mpeg and other video formats direct from a USB thumb drive, or it can also stream them across an ethernet connection from a file server.   Yes, this TV has a network jack!  Taking the 57" out and putting this LCD in has really opened up my living room, it is quite nice.  Here is a pic showing the viewing angle.

Looks much better with that old monstrosity gone.

What made you change your mind and go with LCD?

I've only seen 120hz on Josh's TV and it looked great but was so weird at the same time.  Still not sure I like it because it makes everything look...fake.  I'd probably get used to it but at the moment it is definitely odd looking to me.

I saw my tax return...and Clint's new tv too and changed my mind.  I went to Best Buy and they're totally phasing out the DLP rear projections, so I figured I might as well get something current.  The quality of the picture is absolutely amazing, the blacks are black (which from what I remember wasn't a strong point of LCDs), and the 120hz makes everything so smooth.  It does look weird, but I like it.  It's more realistic instead of getting the 30 fps glitching.

I don't blame you for not buying a DLP as they are being phased out.  I just remember you were going that way at one point.  I hope to not have to buy a new TV for awhile but it'll most likely be something like you/Josh got.  Hopefully by the time I'm looking for one (years and years, I'm hoping), 70"+ screens are reasonably-priced.  Who knows.

Nice! the 120HZ takes some getting used to. But on Joshs he has the feature, whatever its called, turned down, not nearly as distracting for me. But on Lenny and Garys i cant get used to it

this TV doesn't really need one since it will stream movies, pictures, and audio off my home file server.  Watched some of Get Smart last night (what a horrible movie) and Shallow Hal.  The tv up converts to 1080p and 120 hz for regular DVD's and makes them look pretty damn good.
