1. Sam saw this huge moth cocoon thing.  It was pretty creepy watching them crawl in and out of it
2. deer that posed for a couple of seconds before running away
3. a fire tower than I climbed to the top of
4. shot of the kettle river
5.  I like this shot a little better.  The light was very good around sunset, nice and golden, I turned the polarizer a little to take the glare off the river.
6.  looking north west up the kettle.

1. another shot looking north west.  i like this one a lot
2.  looking down from the top of the firetower.  I was WAY above the forest canopy, pretty damn cool
3. me driving across a little river
4. me sitting on the huge white pine at the highlands overlook
5. a stand of red pine near the highlands overlook
6. Sam trying for a nice facebook profile picture, and me ruining it.  haha.  The polarizer filter I bought really takes the glare off the water

1. Sam did some modeling when she was younger so I made her sit by the river for awhile.
2. St. Croix river at sunset the first night we were there
3. a canoe landing at the St. Croix.  This place makes me want to buy a kayak
4.  shot from the top of the fire tower.  You could see the water tower in Grantsburg Wisconsin from up there.  I'm not exactly how far away that is, but I'd guess at least 20 miles.
5. water motion shot of the Kettle river.  I think this shot is pretty damn cool
6. Sam can pose all pretty, I just do stupid crap like this.

1st post, 1st photo.  Tent caterpillars- they build that little tent around the fresh growth on a tree and start munching.  They can be really bad some years out here.  Used to get on my grandpa's fruit trees all the time and he'd spray them with some uber nuclear insecticide.
