I'm loving what I've read/seen about this phone so far.  If all goes well, I'll buy one with Jason's upgrade discount, and then he'll get my Blackberry Tour.

If you haven't read/seen anything about it, even though there's millions of articles about it over the past week, here's a short and sweet one.

I'll let them work the bugs out of it first, but it looks real good so far.

The only bad part is that verizon's data plans are ridiculously priced.

Actually, for me to get the same plan as I have on Verizon right now would cost me $100 on AT&T, $20 more than what I pay currently (I was looking at one point what it would cost for me to have an iphone).  For 450 minutes, unlimited text in network and 500 per month out, its $80 a month.  Then with educational discount, it's only $68 which ain't bad at all.

Here is a good video comparing it to the iphone.

and blackberry storm 2.  Man, I love my Tour, but the browser is HORRIBLE.  Would've been interesting to see them do the tests using Opera or Bolt.

I. LOVE. THIS. PHONE.

Man, this is the phone I've been wanting all along!  Haven't had much a chance to really dig into it yet, but what I love most about this phone over my tour is the browser.  Using Opera 5 beta on the Tour was pretty good, but the webkit browser on the Droid (basically same browser as the iphone) is nice and fast, and displays pages very well.  I really like Anroid 2.0 too, set up very well with lots of features.  Widgets are great, lots of customization, etc.  I definitely have no interest in an iphone (10,000 fart apps!, haha) after my experience with the Droid so far.

Used Jason's NE2 discount to buy the Droid, then we swapped phones.  It was around $210 (after his $100 NE2 discount and contract upgrade price), and then I'm sending in a $100 mail-in rebate today.  A little over $100 in the end, not bad at all.

I played around with one at Best Buy and loved it. What was silly is that I texted Danny to go get one because I liked it, and he responded from his new Droid....silly!

I messed with one at BB and i wasnt fond of the KB.  It would probably grow on me, but at first it was terrible.

Im looking to ditch my iphone, i wanted the blackberry 9700 (bold 2) with the touchpad but the data plans are even more than the iphone.   Vomit

Im stuck with ATT for another year, so im hoping they pick up a decent android phone soon.

The other great thing about android 2.0 is that google is releasing Google Navigation...for free on android 2.0 phones.

The only downfall i see is that it does not have a multi touch kb like the iphone does.

I'm typing this from the droid keyboard now and although its nothing to rave about, I'm already a lot better with it after a few days of use. Also, for longer texts and emails, its really nice to have vs using the touchscreen. I do like the touchscreen for quick input and the autocorrect is very good.

Google navigation is great, I've already used it a few times.

That new bold is a solid phone. I couldn't go back to a blackberry after this though.  They're supposed to redesign their browser by next summer and have flash capable phones by then too. Can't wait for the flash 10 update for the droid.

anyone else jump on the Android bandwagon yet?  I know Heather had a Droid and now a Droid 2, and Clint has a Droid, and I got an HTC Incredible.  Love the phone, I did get a 1500ma battery for it off ebay for $12, I made it 53 hours without charging it, so that's pretty good.

Im getting close to jumping from my Blackberry Curve.  Looking at a Droid 2.  I dont like touch screen kb's for emails, texting, other text heavy things- so I like the slide out kb on it.  Trying to figure out the financials right now to make the switch...
