I haven't been on here in awhile......  But wanted to show you what I finally finished after a 1 year build.

I brought the frame and body panels home July 25, 2009........(it's a Whitehill SandShark)  The engine is a 2009 2.4L Ecotec. Fuel injected - NO MORE cleaning idle jets on the VW Webers. It made it's 1st offical rode ride on July 20th, 2010 and it's 1st trip to Silver lake july 30, 2010. I just got home from a week at Silver lake. Gary and Rick haven't "wanted" to go with me yet. The 1st trip was with Bill  and Ted. I'm being told Gary has been MIA this summer at the dunes because he's afraid to run the dunes with me
  My July trip- http://public.fotki.com/gbmbuggyclub/2010/st-trip-to-sl-with-/?cmd=fs_slideshow

My week last pics- http://public.fotki.com/gbmbuggyclub/2010/silver-lake-aug-9-13th/?cmd=fs_slideshow

The whole build thread-http://www.gbmbuggies.com/Mike-B-s--Whitehill-buggy-build.html

I'm working on graphics for it. Flag me down IF you see me on the dunes...RIDES are free

I poked in every now and then to see your progress on GBM, looks like it came out well. Ive been wanting to hear how the first trip was, i was going to ask gary, but since you're here, how was it in comparison to your old buggy? versus Rick's? Hows the engine?

And the big question, is that Buggy going to see some sand dunes other then silver lake?

No comparison on the 2 rides. The engine is great( no more idle jets to clean)    I have only riden with Bill from Toledo. Gary and Ricky have only made it to Silver lake once this year and I had the old buggy then. I'll be a Silver lake from Wed. before labor day weekend through the next weekend(Applefest). So I'll give it a little better testing then

So as far as the engine, will it pull the front wheels up? You happy with how it is, or will there be a turbo or SC in the future? I'd love to see how it rides first hand, i still remember the HUGE difference going in Ted's-now-Ricks buggy vs Garys or your old one, cant imagine what your new one is like

So whats going to happen to the old one?

Wow!  That is very nice.  The Eco-tec has a pretty good aftermarket support following too, which is always good, even if it is a chevy.    070

What is your current spring rate set-up?  What length shocks?  What is the overall travel?  Track and Wheelbase?

the Eco-tec is a badass motor, not sure if Lingenfelter is still the shiznit for them, but they sure used to be impressive.

The rear shocks have 150lb and 250lb springs, but i'm picking up sets of 200/300lb this weekend to try. I have a little too much sag in the back. It has 18" travel front and back.

I took the buggy into Graphic Designs on tue and had this done. The wing and hood will be done when we get home from Silver lake this weekend (Applefest and hill climb)

It hasn't come off the trailor from Labor Day. Ready to go back tonight for the weekend.
