I've heard Dave and Erik mention this place for offroading, what is it like there? Do you guys go on the state's trails or to that Turtle Ridge ORV park that's there? Are the trails something that you need a serious purpose-built rig for?

most of the state trails are all gay and faggy now.  They widened most of them, filled in holes, and leveled any rough ground so the subaru sporting hippy fags can drive out to marblehead and smoke a bowl and walk down the cliff trail to the water below.

There are still some cool trails open, and in the spring time just after snowmobiling season closes, the trails are pretty tough.  The rest of the time its mostly all very passable.  Turtle ridge is a lot more advanced.

We go to both, and they can offer completely different weekends.  They are very ORV friendly most of the time.  The whole island is full of the nicest people around as well, which is awesome.  Quads are a good time up there, but there is lots and lots of mud and water.

All around, its a wonderful place to get away for the weekend.  And Crut has a cabin there, which makes it all the more awesome!   prayer

The turtle ridge definitely looks like its for more technical/difficult wheeling, have a lot of tube frame 4x4s in the pics of the place. I saw in a magazine somewhere that BF Goodrich gave some award to Drummond Island for their trails, thought it would be a cool place to go. Seems next to impossible to find a good offroad place within 6 hours of here, but there are a lot in the 7-8 hour drive range

I think you guys are pretty lucky to be so centrally located between a lot of good wheeling places.  we are closer to a few, but you guys are fairly close to a lot of them.

I agree, even if they are all 6-8 hours, there's a lot to chose from. They have plans of building a 4x4 park at some point down at Hatfield McCoy too, be convenient. I want to go to this place sometime this winter with the Jeeps

They definitely have some hardcore trails, they rate them 1-5, i'd imagine we would be 1-3 mostly, and have to see what a 4 is like.
