yep.  With as cheap as blu ray players have gotten now, I wouldn't bother with a PS3.

Its for my brother. He wants a blu ray player so Im gonna get him that, but if another console had a built in one i would spend more to get him a gaming system. Hes been wanting the Xbox Kinect

Clint has a Kinect, it's pretty awesome.  The last 2 weekends we've played it until 1:30 in the morning and been sore for 2 days afterwards

XBox does sell a system right now that is pretty bare bones that includes the Kinnect system, but it still runs $300.  You might be able to find a used PS3 at a Gamestop or something for cheap, but like Pete said, the blu-ray players are pretty cheap now.  I don't remember the last time I watched a blu-ray though.  I stream everything over NetFlix now or I just download it.

Emmy and Bosko have kinect and it is indeed a lot of fun.  I own the Move for PS3, but Kinect is definitely way more accessible for the average boob.
