http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/04/26/update-on-playstation-network-and-qriocity/

Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve the current outage of PlayStation Network & Qriocity services. We are currently working to send a similar message to the one below via email to all of our registered account holders regarding a compromise of personal information as a result of an illegal intrusion on our systems. These malicious actions have also had an impact on your ability to enjoy the services provided by PlayStation Network and Qriocity including online gaming and online access to music, movies, sports and TV shows. We have a clear path to have PlayStation Network and Qriocity systems back online, and expect to restore some services within a week.

We’re working day and night to ensure it is done as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and feedback.

Their network has been down for over a week now.  Amazing.  So glad I am not a big gamer anymore, especially on the Playstation 3.  Just thought this was nuts and wanted to know others thoughts.  I know Danny has a PlayStation so maybe he will chime in.

Yeah, they were hit pretty damn hard.

Fortunately the credit card numbers were encrypted, but still wondering if I should change the one I had associated with my account.  Luckily the password I was using for my PSN account isn't the same one I use for any important websites like banks, credit cards, shopping etcs, basically anything associated with money.  Only used it for dumb stuff like forums.  I'd been meaning to for awhile so I did go ahead and change that password I was using in a lot of places since it was insanely weak.  I already had a different password for email, banks, credit cards, paypal, anything bill related so that stuff is safe.

Anyone use keepass to manage their passwords?  I switched it to about a few months ago, I love it.  Use it in conjunction with dropbox and it works great, especially on your phone as well.  It just isn't possible to memorize all sorts of different complex passwords.

But yeah, Dusty, like you, the PSN being down for a week really hasn't affected me at all, haha.  Its probably a good thing cause its kept me from thinking of going online in Mortal Kombat and getting my ass kicked.
