Uninstalled for the 4th time.
Copied the existing PST file onto the desktop.
Then deleted the old PSTfile
Did not delete any directories in the tree or registry.
Reinstalled again- no change.

Tried Nates recommendation of trying to get OUTLOOK to boot into Safe mode.  It did just fine.  Booting Outlook in Safe mode only, not the OS.

Still wont open normally.  Looking for guidance on what to do next to try to fix this.  If I should use the repair function or ????

If I can send and receive email in safe mode- for all I care I will continue to do such.  I dont use it for anything more than that.

I am going to get a copy of 2003 from a buddy and try installing that overtop of my existing 2000.  Thoughts?

I would try uninstalling outlook.  Find the directory it was installed to, c:/program files/office/outlook or whatever and DELETE it.  Reinstall it and try again.

Run Outlook in Safe mode as you have been and give this a try...

In Outlook, go to Tools -> Options.
On one of the tabs (Sorry, OL2003 here, don't remember exactly which for OL2000) there is a button for "Advanced Options". Click it.
In here should be a button labeled "Add-in Manager". Click it.

This is a list of all the add-ins your Outlook is trying to use. Regardless of uninstall, reinstall, it will retain these - which may very well be your problem! It disables these when you start it in Safe Mode, and they are one of the more common Outlook problems.

My advice is to try disabling them all (unless you really need to have one running) and try running Outlook normally again. If that fixes it, you can add in one or two at a time to find out which one is the problem.

Let me know! :)

p.s., I think you should be able to do basic send/recieve mail in Outlook's Safe Mode - it just disables all the frills (i.e., add-ins! hehe) so you can remedy whatever difficulty you are having with it. Though, it may prove to lack some feature or another that you may want down the road, so fixing it to run in standard mode again isn't too bad of a thing by any means.

Fucking McAfee SpamKiller can suck my ballz....Went into add-in manager and McAfee Spamkiller was listed and two windows based ones (fax and something else)....So I figured it was probably McAfee.  Sure as shit- uninstalled McAfee SpamKiller and she boots up normally now.

Sooooooooo- final question I guess- whats a good free spamkiller program.  I get around 150 spam emails a day.
