Sound familiar? ugh then I heard some horror stories of people cracking the stock pistons across the crown. Probably lean jetting but who knows.

on the '04 YFZ only the decomp hole on the head was cast open. It was used on the dirtbikes for a manual decompression lever. Yamaha plugged the hole with a cheap little plug that can blow out apparently. I got a plug that bolts into the head as a PM measure.
