Trip went very well. Weather was a little wet at first when we got there friday night but then it dried up saturday morning.

We ventured down to the mudhole area to watch all the utilities drown out and watch Jason try to go sailing

This is where i took it out and almost drowned it. It got pretty silty at the side. Towards the right it's hard and rocky on the bottom. I put a clutch kit in it for him last week on his King Quad and what a difference. Now if only he could go for a ride without getting a flat
On sunday we went to go on the Dirt Bike Trail which is the hardest of the three in the system. There is the Timberline ATV trail, which is the nicest and you pretty much stay in third gear or higher throughout. Lots of fun if you have a fast bike. Then there is the Marienville ATV trail. It's a little more hilly and not quite as groomed. Still very smooth and fun. A little more wet, too. Lastly there is the Dirt Bike trail, which is the tightest and longest. The first part and last part is so twisty and rocky that your in 1st gear a lot of the time. It's worth struggling through to get to the middle which is like a roller coaster . It's just rollers and hairpins in extremely deep woods. Second gear full throttle and wheely over all obstacles makes it very fun. Gives you a great idea what GNCC is like. I'm surprised that Joshs DS fit in most of the trails it's so tight. This pic is where the trail crosses over a Gas pipe line. When you stand there the gas moving through the pipes makes the strangest sound reverberating through the ground. It sounds like a sound effect for an alien ship or something. It's a very low pulsating sound. weird
This is the part of the bike trail that crosses over a marsh. It's hard to tell under the grass but it's mud and water. The forestry dept is very big on minimum impact on the land so that the place doesn't get shut down. Doesn't cut down on the fun unless you have a Bomb 800 with 29s
This is the famed rock garden. Pictures do not do it justice at all. It's probaly about 100 yards uphill of nothing but rocks, boulders, trees, and little dirt. There is a bypass that isn't much better that goes around. Everyone but jason took the bypass. These pics are from the bottom. It's not much fun walking up in riding boots. It gets worse as you get higher. It's all natural and very deep in the woods. You'd be in a lot of trouble if you broke down or got seriously injured. Needless to say on this trail your skidplates get a beating.
"Danny, you want to go for a night ride?" you can see his answer. I had to go out by myself since danny was asleep, heather wasn't feeling well, and jason had to leave early that night to take Josh home. He said he didn't like sleeping without Desirae and he missed her too much. Jason wanted to stay and ride but he left to be nice
This was Monday morning. It was still very nice but it was getting very hot. The campsite was filled with grasshoppers. Everytime you would take a step 8 grasshoppers would jump out of the way. They moved away after the first day. The Timberline ATV trail Loop C ran right in front of our site. You could watch everyone ride by and go out whenever you wanted. It was nice and quiet at night except for what sounded like mortars going off early the one night off in the distance.
