http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2508742This is totally against everything Ben has always said. He was oh so thankful bla bla bla that the pistons took a chance on him. Now he goes to chicago for a whopping 4 more million? Typical nathan.

sports are a business boys and it's only going to get worse. i watched the lakers this year, but that's the only sport i'm even half interested in. i watch maybe a couple vikings games... none of the 8 or 9. haven't watched a single baseball game. watching a bunch of guys play a game just doesn't seem as interesting as it once was.... tv is just kinda blah... we have a 57 inch tv that plays movies and the occasional video game and that's it. i think i could along fine without a tv if not for the movies....

Yeah, right. Until you hop back on the football bandwagon or the baseball bandwagon. I wouldn't want to watch baseball if I was a Braves fan either.

could be. i've had a lot going on. and the only reason i was watching football was because the Vikings had Daunte... didn't watch before, and didn't watch when he went down.
my sports watching had tapered down significantly, and especially the big 3. i'd rather watch motorcycle racing, boxing, or UFC. i'm about 99% sure i won't watch a football game this year.

I still watch sports, but I don't care what happens as much anymore. I'll watch the Vikes still, and shake my head when they blow it, but whatever. I've been finding alot of cool stuff in HD to watch at times, but like Clint, I'd much rather be outside enjoying the weather and getting some exercise this time of year.
Clint, one of these nights you and Beth need to bring your bikes up and we can go for a ride through the regional park up here.

I do the same..I love all of the channels I use to rag on my dad for watching..
I can agree with Ben. Flip Saunders is about the shittiest defensive coach I have ever seen. Ben had a sore taste in his mouth with the pistons after they banned his brother from the palace. Rumor is that is one of the reasons he left, and he also was wanting the ball more (hes a liability, whatever) Let him go to Chicago! He WAS the franchise imo, but Nazr isnt as much of an offensive liability as Ben. He is also taller and similar framed.
I can only imagine Ben's first home game!! I should buy tickets NOW!

I can only imagine Ben's first home game!! I should buy tickets NOW! I dont buy any of this. They DOMINATED the regular season. So, how does the defense all of a sudden not work in the playoffs? Two weeks before the playoffs the Pistons clobbered the cavs by like 40. They didnt lose the playoffs because of poor D. Look at the offensive production. Tayshaun Prince was the only guy who averaged what he did in the regular season. Chauncey was in the paper this week saying that he was "out of gas" during the playoffs. He fell off the worst in the playoffs. In the playoffs, ben didnt have his normal energy. And the guy was an offensive liability, especially late in the game. And if his brother being banned is his reason for leaving, good. His brother is no different then any of the other idiots who participated in the brawl. Ben was the franchise, i doubt theyll have a great season this year. Nazr is way better offensively, but hes know 4 time defensive player of the year. Rasheed and Mcdyess are going to have to really step it up this year. The central division should be great this year, with the chicago and the cavs playing well.

I dont think them winning all of the games in the regular season meant shit when it came crunch time in the playoffs. And yes, they did lose in the playoffs because of poor defense. They had no answer for Miami's offense. If Wade wasnt shooting well, he had others who stepped up and made shots.
Chicago will be sweet to watch, as will the Cavs. Ben Gordon is quite the player and I dont think hes getting as much respect as he deserves.

I've long had it with pro sports. I support my local pro teams and show up to a game or watch one on tv now and then, but I don't take a very large personal stake in the outcomes.
Now college sports, there's something I get into. The games just seem more exciting, more pure, and easier to dive into. I'll follow multiple teams throughout the season and watch all their games.

I'm with you, but I'm a huge baseball fan and college baseball doesn't seem like it gets very good coverage. I've about had it with the rediculous salaries players are making, and their silly, babyish antics.

The pistons were a jump shooting team all year, and even had the highest 3pt percentage all year, along with Rip who had the highest percentage all year. Now, take a look their shooting percentage from the field during the playoffs. It was pathetic, about 30% in most games. They also led the league in FEWEST points from the paint. The pistons averaged 99 points per game in the regular season, and only averaged 79 points in the cleveland and miami series. The heat averaged 89 points against the pistons. The heats regular season average was 84 points per game. So, the heat averaged 5 more points a game, and the pistons scored 19 FEWER points a game. That seems to be an offensive problem, not a defensive problem. Wade played like a mad man, and only allowing the heat to average 5 more points a game then they did in the regular season is more then reasonable. They were tired, they played more games than anyone in the last three years. And chauncey, and rip averaged more minutes this season then ever before.

1 -- Heat have Shaq. He's hard to guard and he probably does get away with too much shit
2-- it's the playoffs... team's that are jump shooting teams can be hurt and hurt often. defenses are night and day in the playoffs. you don't get a free step to shoot anymore.
3 -- defense wins games in the playoffs. if you are a slow down, defense oriented team, you'll always, always have an advantage over a team that's jump shooting and doesn't pound it down low.
all that being said, Flip is probably the worst playoff coach in the history of the Earth. he makes no adjustments, does not play matchups, does not prepare like many others... especially Pat Riley.
the regular season and playoffs are very, very different ballgames. the reason Phil Jackson is so good is because he is a master of breaking down a team's weaknesses and creating a gameplan to isolate them. the same thing with Riley and even Larry Brown -- even though I think he's an asshat.....
