Well not really, I am kicking it around but not sure if I am going to do it or not right now...

I went to test drive an LBZ today and the damn dealership was closed at 2pm on a Saturday... someone didn't want to make any money. So I went across the street and test drove another Dodge. It was an 06 auto, quad cab, long bed, loaded up with leather buckets and all. Sticker was $47,000 and they were willing to sell it for $37,000 which is a smoking deal.

After I left I went back over and check out the LBZ at the dealership that was closed and I have to admit I like it too but for different reasons...

Dodge: Proven I6, Solid front axle, sits much higher, looks like it would be easier to work on. Just a truck in every sense of the word.

Chevy: Awesome engine/ tranny combo, sits lower, nicer ride with ifs, more fun on the strip. Its like a luxury muscle car truck.

They are just so different, the dodge I can see me lifting and putting 37's with some honking stacks out the top. The chevy I would keep more stock looking and concentrate on performance......OOOOOHHHH decisions decisions

Well today me and des went to Tim Lally Chevy, they had a few 06's and a bunch of 07 Duramax's.  They had the exact truck I wanted in an 07, crew cab, short bed, black, LT3, leather, aluminum wheels, it even had some stuff I didn't care about such as on-star, sunroof... it was loaded.  So I told the guy I wanted to test drive it and he brings it around.  We get in, go get gas and then head for the expressway as I turn on the on ramp I roll on the throttle pretty easy, get it almost floored and the TIRES BREAK LOOSE, BAD ASS!!!!!!

I have to say I didn't have high expectations and figured on getting the Cummins, but I LOVED this truck, I can't get it off my m ind, haha.  It rode better, had 10000000x better interior, and felt a ton more responsive power wise.  I never thought I would be a chevy guy, but heck I just might end up one.

what's wrong with the 6 foot box?  It's standard on everything practically.

On Dodges I hate the short beds, but on GM's I think they look better and that is all they have... I only saw a handful of 8' beds and it was on regular cab work trucks.

maybe the 8 foot beds dont look too good, but they match the rest of the truck well! Gives thy a finger
actually i still like the look of a longbed better, even on chevys.

i always buy a truck that doesnt work worth a shit because i think it "looks cool" which it doesnt.  having a short box is like telling everyone that you're "CHOAD-MAN! defender of all things useless"  and proud of it.  you cant even put a dirt bike in it with the tailgate shut without putting it all crooked as shit! put a toolbox in it, and discover a whole new dimension of useless bedspace.  shortbed diesels should go the way of the el camino.  ask anyone who has had, and used their truck, and they will tell you to buy a long box, you'll never regret it.  long box trucks ride better too.

well I guess in Dave's World, a longbox is the way to go.  For those of us who don't haul 3 quads in the bed of a truck, a standard bed works fine.  I for one basically only use the bed of my truck to haul a quad, so the 6 foot bed works great for me.  I think a longbox truck is a must if you work construction etc, but for most of us normal people, its un needed.  Dave, I never did say you were normal though,  uglylol
