maybe the 8 foot beds dont look too good, but they match the rest of the truck well! actually i still like the look of a longbed better, even on chevys. i always buy a truck that doesnt work worth a shit because i think it "looks cool" which it doesnt. having a short box is like telling everyone that you're "CHOAD-MAN! defender of all things useless" and proud of it. you cant even put a dirt bike in it with the tailgate shut without putting it all crooked as shit! put a toolbox in it, and discover a whole new dimension of useless bedspace. shortbed diesels should go the way of the el camino. ask anyone who has had, and used their truck, and they will tell you to buy a long box, you'll never regret it. long box trucks ride better too. Ive used trucks all my life...and if you want an extended cab, or quad cab a long box isnt worth it. Just makes the truck too long. Im all for a long box on a standard cab though.

As for me I would probably pass out, then when I woke up I would beat you!! If any of you care, I definately loved the Chevy way way better than the Dodge we test drove a few weeks ago. Im not saying he should get one I am jusst saying I like them. :)

so Josh, I have to ask..how long are you going to hold out? You and CBerg might be long lost brothers, impulsive buyers Oh, I don't know... the sales guy is suppose to send me the price tomorrow with the employee discount and rebates and I am going to talk to Jim tomorrow, my boss's brother who is the heavy duty truck mechanic that wants to get into diesel performance. I have to see how much dinero he is gonna pay me to do his website... maybe he is will just make my truck payment for me . If everything wasn't changing the first of the year I really would wait till spring, but I don't want an LMM with the new emissions crap. Chris is a cool dude, I wouldn't mind calling him my brother :partyman:... I have come to terms that this is the way I am, I like buying and selling stuff, its fun for me, I like getting excited, researching, and finding a deal. Josh. with you its a disease, not a hobby

chevys better end of story Actually it depends what you want to use it for. If I was going to leave it stock and pull a 15,000 pound 5th wheel I would probably pick the Dodge or if I was going to put 37s or 38's on it I would pick the Dodge or if I had a farm and needed a work truck I would pick the Dodge. If the 6.4 powerstroke turns out to be a good reliable engine then it would be considered for all the above too. But for me the Duramax would make a better daily driver and it looks like it would be a blast at the track with a programmer embarrassing the likes of Dusty in his "ricer"

Josh...if you are intrested in a d-max for the sole purpose of just putting a programmer on it and running it at the track you are sadly mistaken. Dollar for dollar the cummins makes more power!! Those fast duramaxs have super super super deep pockets and the engine needs to be severly beefed up to handle the stresses of 500+hp. That almighty allison automatic tranny needs loving too if you throw too much powah at em.
Are you buying new or used? These big beautiful trucks also come with sweet ass warrantys. I wouldnt be that guy that throws a bunch of money on a programmer and all the bullshit and is losing his ass when the duramax chucks a rod and your stuck with a $10k repair bill. Cummins same way. if I were in your shoes I would buy a 94-98.4 12V and spend about 8K in mods and you have a 10 second truck that will run for a lifetime. In the end, it all depends on what YOU want though.

I would buy a Duramax, do a few simple mods, and leave it alone. Just hearing the issues Erik has had with his with his mods, I wouldn't bother.
